Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, The College of the Liberal Arts This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position in Classics, beginning August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching general survey courses, such as Greek Civilization, Roman Civilization, and Classical Mythology, as well as Latin language. This position will include resident and online instruction and normal university service. The teaching load during the academic year is six courses, typically three per semester. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job. A Ph.D. in Classics or related field is required by the appointment date. This is a non-tenure-track position.
