About The Job Providence Medical Academy in Douglasville, GA is a private medical assisting school with an immediate opportunity for a clinical instructor to work on an as-needed/PRN basis teaching our students in our onsite clinical lab the core skills needed to provide safe and quality patient care. The clinical instructor must be experienced and competent in performing and teaching the following skills, including, but not limited to: vital signs, phlebotomy, point of care testing, electrocardiograms, dosage calculation and medication administration, and assisting with surgical procedures. Our lab classes meet for on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-9:30 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Providence Medical Academy offers an 18 week hybrid medical assisting curriculum with full instructor support. All lectures, assignments, and quizzes are completed online across 16 weeks. The lab/skills portion of the program meets in-person four times on evenings or weekends. Preparation for national certification exam through the NHA is included in the program. A two week externship is provided at end of the program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches medical assistant lab skills embedded within 16-week curriculum Maintains classroom and laboratory organization and cleanliness Maintains student attendance and grade records Monitors classroom and student safety and immediately reports safety concerns to management Provides input on the planning, development, and maintenance of the program curriculum Escalates and collaborates with management to resolve student concerns Attends faculty meetings, in-service workshops, and professional development activities Maintains inventory control of supplies used to support learning and reports the need for supplies to management Conducts self in the utmost professional manner at all times as a representative of self, profession, and the Academy Performs other duties as specified by management
Required Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
Current certification as a medical assistant (CCMA, CMA, RMA) or current licensure as a licensed practical or registered nurse in the State of Georgia Two (2) or more years of current industry experience in field of expertise Formal teaching experience required, or experience in a role that included responsibilities to provide training or preceptorship support Experience working in a physician’s office setting preferred Strong organizational and planning skills Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills Excellent technical skills Team player who demonstrates initiative, flexibility, dependability, and reliability
