JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION

Assists in the instruction of radiologic theory and clinical practices to students in the School of Radiologic Technology while displaying and demonstrating the ability to promote CQI and customer relations and appropriate to the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.

JOB FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Makes clinical assignments appropriate to student level. Collaborates and coordinates activities with clinical staff to achieve optimal schedule of clinical assignments for students and staff. Communicates clinical schedules verbally and in writing to all appropriate personnel, according to established guidelines. Evaluates and monitors student progress toward meeting objectives and communicates findings according to established procedures. 2. Performs classroom instruction for students on assigned topics.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Prepares and updates course presentations, calendars and tests and teaches classes, as assigned. Evaluates individual classroom performance within assigned parameters and communicates findings according to established procedures. 3. Advises and counsels students on academic guidance and direction.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Assesses students’ needs and makes referrals to appropriate agencies as needed. Assures compliance by students with appropriate accreditation committees, hospital quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control programs. 4. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Equivalent of two years full time professional experience as a radiographer.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Meets educational requirement established by

JRCERT SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Credentialed and in good standing with the ARRT or the Louisiana Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Competent in instructional and evaluative techniques.

HIPAA REQUIREMENTS

Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records w/o limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, information related to patient location, religious beliefs and/or public health records.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, patient identification, administers/receives/collects meds/blood order or products, validates, transports, monitors or observes patients for procedures including infusion pumps, monitors clinical alarms for all ages.
