PM Summary:

Clinical Instructor for nursing students. The clinical instructor is a fully competent practitioner of nursing. The incumbent is responsible for the practice of nursing according to the Rules and Regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act, Northern Light Health Standards of Care/Practice, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, exceptional teaching abilities, and a passion for nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.. Responsibilities include the supervision/instruction of associate degree nursing students in hospital medical/surgical, pediatrics, and/or obstetrics, and settings.

Responsibilities:

+ Supervise and mentor nursing students during their clinical rotations, ensuring a positive learning experience. + Clinical instructors are responsible for assigning patients who meet the educational and clinical experience requirements + Clinical instructors plan pre- and post-conferences and provide regular feedback to students for performance improvement and review. + Facilitate discussions, case studies, and hands-on practice to promote critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities. + Evaluate students’ performance, provide constructive feedback on a regular basis and report concerns to their designated school of nursing + Collaborate with faculty members to align clinical experiences with the nursing curriculum. + Final clinical evaluations are the responsibility of the clinical faculty. 3.

+ Foster effective communication and teamwork with healthcare professionals, students, and colleagues to ensure coordinated patient care. + Attend professional development opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in nursing practice and education. + Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify areas for improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
