$70.3K – $85.5K a year 8 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification RRT Mid-level Clinical instruction Acute care CRT Leadership Communication skills Full Job Description The Respiratory Clinical Instructor is responsible for coordinating, delivering, and evaluating clinical education programs for both respiratory care personnel and nursing staff across skilled nursing facilities. This role plays a critical part in supporting staff development, service quality, and regulatory compliance. As a Clinical Instructor, you will have the opportunity to develop strong leadership and educator skills while interacting with peers in the healthcare setting, without direct patient care responsibilities. 6-10 hours per week. Must be able to travel for each assignment. Must be available to do in-person training between 2-4pm on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate on site in-service training sessions for nursing staff, focusing on respiratory-related topics. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate in-service educational programs supporting performance, compliance, and continuous quality improvement. Conduct comprehensive new hire orientation for respiratory therapy (RT) personnel, ensuring alignment with clinical and organizational standards. Maintain clinical competency in both routine and advanced respiratory care in order to serve as a credible and knowledgeable instructor. Provide ongoing and as-needed training sessions for respiratory therapists to address knowledge gaps, regulatory updates, or new equipment procedures. Collaborate with clinical leadership to assess training needs, plan learning objectives, and support competency development. Maintain accurate documentation of training activities, including attendance, assessments, and follow-up actions. Actively contribute to clinical education planning and quality initiatives within the organization.
Qualifications:
Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in good standing. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; post-acute or long-term care experience preferred. Experience in staff education, clinical instruction, or preceptorship roles. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage adult learners effectively. Self-directed, organized, and capable of managing schedules across multiple training sites. CPR Instructor certification is a plus.
