School of Medicine and Dentistry Location Rochester – NY Open Date Jun 26, 2025 Salary Range or Pay Grade $148-167 per hour Description The University Health Service (UHS) is committed to monitoring and maintaining the health of its students and staff. Core objectives of the Occupational Health Division of UHS are to: 1) assist various University departments to complete mandatory requirements for students working in patient-facing or research positions; 2) provide appointments to staff from various non-patient facing departments to complete required monitoring such as federal drug screening, respiratory fit testing, auditory monitoring, and annual health updates; and 3) conduct assessments for students and non-patients facing staff who sustain animal or chemical exposures through the course of their academic studies or employment, respectively. This is a part-time consultant position. The physician will maintain a primary faculty appointment, department and rank based on the individual’s expertise and training. Candidates for this position must be a Physician with active Medical License in New York State and must qualify for faculty appointment in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. This is a 10% FTE position, or 8 hours per week. The physician will serve as a consultant to the Occ Health Nurse Practitioner to provide general oversight of UHS Occupational Health programs. The physician will assist in the collaboration with other UR departments to help monitor and protect the health of UR employees, encourage injury prevention, and evaluate certain employees and students with work-related health issues, such as various occupational exposures. The physician is expected to engage in life-long learning activities of their choice. The physician is also expected to maintain the highest degree of professionalism and contribute to a positive workplace culture Qualifications M.D. or D.O.
