Job Description Summary
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), College of Medicine, Department of Radiation Medicine is seeking a full-time radiation oncologist to work at New River Oncology, a satellite facility located in beautiful Okatie, near Bluffton, SC. This facility is a strategic partnership between the local hospital system Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) and the Medical University of South Carolina.
The satellite center is equipped with a state-of-the-art Varian Halcyon treatment system, CT-simulator, ARIA oncology EMR, and Eclipse treatment planning system. Staffing includes full-time onsite nursing and therapists with support of a full-time physicist and a dosimetrist. The center has a sister site, Keyserling Cancer Center, in Beaufort 22 miles away that is equipped a Varian TrueBeam linac with the same treatment planning and management systems. The physician at New River will focus on that site but will have access to the Beaufort center as well. The physicians at the two sites will partner to build the practices at both facilities. Whereas the primary role is to be the medical director and lead physician at the New River center, he/she is expected be integrated into the overall programs of the Medical University of South Carolina and the Hollings Cancer Center, an NCI-designated cancer center.
The physician is expected to carry faculty rank based on experience and would have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, resident education, and multidisciplinary patient care. The physician would be afforded the opportunities for career advancement. The practice will be supported by MUSC

Job Description
The MUSC flagship campus in Charleston, SC, has additional treatment modalities and technical expertise to fully support the practices in Beaufort and Okatie. The Charleston campuses host three Varian TrueBeam accelerators, GammaKnife, Radixact tomotherapy, as well as two CT/Simulators and a BodyTom mobile CT unit, multiple treatment planning platforms, and strong LDR and HDR brachytherapy programs. The Department supports an ACGME-accredited residency program for physicians and a CAMPEP-accredited residency program for physicists. Located 1.5 hours south of Charleston and 1 hour north of Savannah, GA, the Beaufort
