The Department of Physical Therapy offers a 3-year Doctor of Physical Therapy program housed in the university’s new Health Sciences Building (HSB). The HSB includes classrooms, labs, clinical and study spaces specifically designed for physical therapy and other health professions programs housed in the building. TCRC is a university based, student and faculty operated pro bono physical and occupational therapy clinic, also located in the HSB and convenient to teaching labs and classrooms used by physical and occupational therapy students and faculty. Responsibilities and activities for this new position will vary based on academic schedules, clinic schedules, research and grant activity.
Key areas of responsibility include:
ensure the security, efficiency and quality control of supplies, materials, records and equipment in selected laboratory, clinical, research and teaching spaces. serving as safety officer during selected hours of lab and clinical activities and functions assist faculty, guest speakers and volunteer clinical instructors with planning for teaching activities in lab and clinic provides instruction and support to faculty and students as needed re: operational procedures related to the use of selected spaces, equipment, supplies materials, and safety. ensures equipment and material availability based on teaching, research and clinical schedules works under the direction of and in collaboratively with the Faculty Board of the Tiger Clinic related to clinic operations and Student Board functions provides support, training and supervision to Tiger Clinic Student Board related to clinic operations if the selected candidate holds a license to practice physical or occupational therapy in Tennessee, duties may also include intermittent clinical supervision of students in university clinics and labs. maintains effective relationships with program, department, university, vendor and contractor relationships as appropriate. assists faculty with selected grant applications and research proposals assist faculty and staff with research and assessment project implementation and management Preferred qualifications include a clinical or research graduate degree and relevant experience, applicants with experience in health care, particularly in clinical practice, administration or research and bachelor’s degree in related field are also encouraged to apply.
