Job Description
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Medicine is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track assistant/associate professor faculty position. Academic rank at time of appointment shall be commensurate with credentials and experience.
The UTHSC Physician Assistant Program admitted their first class in 2014 and is the only public physician assistant (PA) program in the state of Tennessee. To date, the program has a > 95% graduation rate and first-time Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) pass rate.

Responsibilities
Teaching in the didactic year in areas as per the PANCE Blueprint (2019 edition). Teaching responsibilities may not be in area of clinical practice or didactic courses previously taught

Continued clinical practice and release time provided by the College of Medicine.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience with a history of precepting PA students or other medical trainees, or one (1) year of clinical experience with additional training in teaching, education, or involvement in an academic medical training program (PA, MD, DO).
Master’s degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
Current NCCPA or medical specialty board certification
Eligibility for Tennessee physician assistant or medical license (licensure required)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds
