Community Education Coordinator 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Abbeville, AL 36310 JOB The Community Education Coordinator at Bishop State Community College will lead the development and execution of short-term educational courses aimed at enriching the local community. This part-time position focuses on identifying community interests, recruiting qualified instructors, and coordinating engaging programs such as cooking classes, crafting workshops, and more. The coordinator will collaborate with marketing teams to effectively promote these offerings and assess their impact through data analysis. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for building community partnerships and ensuring program success.

Develop, coordinate, and implement short-term community education courses designed to engage the broader Mobile communityResearch community interests and needs to develop relevant course offerings (e.g., line dancing, cake baking, cooking for couples, automotive basics, crafting skills)Recruit, screen, and provide orientation for qualified part-time instructorsDevelop course descriptions, schedules, and marketing materialsCoordinate with the marketing department to promote community education programsMonitor program enrollment, attendance, and completion ratesCollect and analyze program evaluation data to assess course effectivenessDevelop and manage program budgetsCreate and maintain program documentation and recordsCoordinate classroom and facility usage for community education coursesServe as liaison between instructors, students, and the collegeRespond to community inquiries regarding course offeringsRepresent the college at community events to promote educational opportunitiesCollaborate with Workforce and Economic Development team on strategic planningAssist in the development of grant proposals to support community education initiativesWork with campus facilities staff to ensure appropriate setup for various course needsProcess enrollment, payments, and maintain accurate participant recordsPrepare reports on program activities, enrollment, and outcomesFoster community partnerships to enhance program offeringsCreate, maintain, and analyze program budgetsWork evenings and weekends as required for program schedulingDevelop, implement, and coordinate short-term community education coursesBuild relationships with community members and potential instructorsPerform other work-related responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development, Vice President, and/or President

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.

The Selection Committee will screen all applicants for the position. The Committee will select applicants for in-person interviews which may consist of question/answer session and /or skills assessments. ACCS Salary Schedule- L ($35 per hour, based on qualifications)
