- Transplantation (Chief) Assignment Category Full-Time Rank Open Rank Tenure Status Open Tenure Payroll Status Faculty 12 Job Description The Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a dynamic, academically oriented, fellowship trained transplantation surgeon, to lead the UAB Division of Transplantation.
The successful candidate will lead an active, collaborative clinical, teaching and research program consisting of 12 transplant faculty. The Division Director of Transplantation will oversee and manage the division finances, personnel, and faculty. The assignment of the Division Director is an administrative post appointed by the Department Chair. The incumbent will serve on the Departmental Leadership Council which is the governing body of the Department of Surgery. The Division Director serves in a leadership position in the Comprehensive Transplant Institute at UAB, and as such, acts as a representative for transplantation and its patients across the institution and the state. This position will be tenure track at the title/rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
