Description This position is responsible for coordinating the Sanders College of Business and Technology’s priority of providing quality experiential learning opportunities for students. This includes managing study abroad and study away trips as well as promoting and tracking participation for student clubs, research, competitions, badging, volunteerism, and more. This person works directly with Sanders COBT faculty, staff, and students, as well as other UNA employees, other academic institutions, travel providers, and vendors to support experiential learning initiatives. This position also involves planning and implementing social media efforts for the Sanders College, as well as assisting with career development initiatives for students. Essential Job Duties Experiential Learning (25%)
Coordinate total student experience metrics and documentation, in collaboration with college administrators and faculty; Keep records to show student participation in college-sponsored events and activities related to total student experience; Assist faculty advisors for student clubs in the College in utilizing CampusGroups university software to maintain RSO information;
Coordinate the College Experiential Learning Browse Fair each Fall;
Plan College service and volunteer projects for students;
Assist faculty in encouraging participation in student research opportunities;
Track and quantify student participation in competitions;
Oversee College participation in the university Experiential Expo and other university events related to experiential learning;
Market, recruit, and manage student tracking for the Signature Badge Program in the College; Assist with the Institute Fellows program in the College.
Study Abroad/Study Away (25%)
Support College faculty through the program proposal process, including researching, identifying and helping cultivate study abroad and study away opportunities that align with faculty interests and student needs, ensure compliance with university policies and international travel and entry requirements, communicate faculty-led study abroad leader resources and facilitate training, coordinate travel approvals and reimbursements;
Program development and execution, including organizing logistics (e.g., agreements, transportation, accommodations, excursions, educational experiences, etc.) associated with all Sanders COBT faculty-led programs, effectively liaising with other campus offices, academic departments and new and existing external partners to ensure quality high-impact learning experiences and efficient administrative operations, manage program budgets, process student trip applications, and communicatie decisions and next steps;
Advise students on university-approved study abroad programs, policies and regulations, including conveying information on participation requirements, the student experience, scholarships and financial aid, registration procedures, and academic credit; Plan and implement pre-departure and re-entry orientations/programming, promote programs through speaking engagements and participation in professional organizations, and work with the College Communication and Event Coordinator to promote study abroad/study away in newsletters and other print medium, web content, and social media;
Conduct assessments of the education abroad programs and services to evaluate participant and program success and effectiveness;
Support strategic initiatives, special projects and reporting related to Education Abroad within UNA’s Office of International Affairs.
College Social Media (35%)
Work with Sanders College Communication and Event Coordinator on social media strategy and research trends to best engage various audiences with each College social platform;
Create and schedule Sanders College social media posts on all platforms;
Respond to user questions and comments on college social media as needed.
Career Development Initiatives (15%)
Assist the Sanders College Career Development Manager by spending approximately 10 hours a week with career counseling, resume reviews, and helping with career event planning/facilitation as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Serve on university and college committees as requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Some experience in higher education being a leader in student organizations, participating in study abroad/away, handling social media for a department or organization, and assisting with career readiness is required.
