Department Student Affairs Division Assistant VP/Student Affairs Opening Date 04/21/2025 Closing Date 4/27/2025 11:59 PM Central Job Description Alabama State University, Office of Admissions and Recruitment, invites applications to fill the vacant position of Admission Specialist. The successful applicant will provide support to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment by performing a variety of administrative tasks involving the application of initiative and independent judgment. This position reports to the associate director and the assistant vice president for the division.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Input data into the central university database relative to information received from individual student application for admission, test scores, contact card and transcript(s) for beginning freshmen, transfer, special and returning students Compile reports on profiles of prospective students Coordinate, analyze and evaluate student credentials for admission, and scholarship Update student records as they move through the admissions process Assist with the telemarketing of prospective students Analyze credentials and establish in-state eligibility for incoming students Analyze credentials for students applying for scholarship Initiate training of assigned student workers Serve as receptionist for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment Information Center by greeting and providing prospective students and parents with the requirements for admission and status of application, maintain admissions and recruitment email file by following-up to inquires or forwarding email to appropriate staff Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications An Associate’s degree in Office Administration, Business or related field, and 1 year of administrative, secretarial or data management experience are required.
