Description
The administrative assistant supports the daily operations of two academic departments- Biological and Environmental Sciences and Mathematics- by providing administrative and clerical support. The role involves communication, scheduling, data management, and general assistance to faculty, staff, and students. This position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and clear communication.
Responsibilities:
Answer calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
Maintain departmental records: budgets, purchase orders, meeting minutes, course schedules, and inventory.
Assist with ordering supplies and coordinating recruiting materials.
Prepare and distribute announcements, course materials, and memos to faculty, staff, and students. Track and generate reports as needed.
Coordinate logistics for department events, meetings, and student activities. •

Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Willingness to learn university systems and software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage schedules, records, and filing systems. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Customer service orientation.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Preferred
College Coursework or College Degree.
Experience in customer relations and communication.
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
