The Director will supervise the Admissions Counselors while providing leadership and direction in the university’s strategic enrollment goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishes forecasts and achieves new student start rate and readmissions plans. Monitor expenses to ensure budget compliance. Create an open and welcoming environment that actively supports prospective students and their families. Oversee all aspects of recruitment, evaluation, selection, and yield. Participate in all aspects of the general admission process, including: leading public presentations; recruitment travel; evaluating applications; and serving as a full-voting member of the admission committee. Supervise outreach & engagement activities for the Recruitment staff Develop & execute in collaboration with the Admissions and Recruitment team, a data-driven recruitment

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect, analyze, update, and present data and statistics related to territory enrollments and recruitment Events. Use data insights to refine recruitment strategies and report on the effectiveness of activities.

Professional Development:

Attend and participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices. Implement new strategies and tools acquired through professional development to enhance recruitment efforts.

Collaboration and Communication:

Assist the director with training of new Admissions and Recruitment team members, as needed. Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other departments to support institutional enrollment goals. Provide exemplary customer service and effectively engage with prospective students, their families, and other stakeholders. Deliver dynamic presentations and effectively communicate Philander Smith University’s values, programs, and opportunities to various audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is also required Strong team-building skills and a record of success in hiring, mentoring, managing, and supervising staff Strong interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm for and demonstrated commitment to supporting students and families from a wide range of backgrounds.. Evidence of creativity and innovation in problem solving and strategy implementation. Experience using admission and enrollment data to measure and assess progress toward strategic goals and revise practices as needed. Demonstrated aptitude for counseling students and families through the college application process. Strong organizational and project management skills, and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Deliver compelling presentations to both small and large groups. Compose and edit correspondence, proposals, and reports with professionalism.

Plan, organize, and execute multiple projects and special events under pressure and within deadlines. Develop and recommend office procedures to ensure smooth admissions operations.

Technical Proficiency:

Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies. Use technology to enhance recruitment strategies and maintain efficient business operations.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

Balance multiple priorities and shift between tasks seamlessly. Travel extensively for recruitment purposes and possess a valid, unencumbered driver’s license.
