Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides behavioral and disciplinary support to the administrative team, teaching staff and student body with the explicit purpose of reducing the number of student infractions and increasing positive behavior and habits across the school campus. The Dean of Students/Behavior Interventionist provides training, coaching, modeling and consultation to all stakeholders including families. Provide an initial professional development session during pre-service week for all faculty on classroom management, positive behavior instructional support and the school wide discipline process. Provides specific professional development to individual teachers and teams as needed to support positive behavioral practices including classroom management. Provides ongoing professional development as needed and directed by the principal Provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates positive management and behavioral strategies. Provides resources/guidance to parents to help them better support their scholars through parent academy sessions (including evenings) and other parent events as directed by the principal. Additional duties including but not limited to sibling link, cafeteria duty, arrival/dismissal duty and hallway duty.

Insists on highest level of quality. Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent. Possession of valid teaching, counseling or social work certification (as appropriate). Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching, counseling or social work experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience). Successful results of criminal and employment background check and drug testing. Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
