Jim and Jan Moran Family Center, Deerfield Beach, FL. Position requires regular travel within Broward County. (Mileage is reimbursed.) Occasional travel out of town for conferences and training.

Compensation:

$50,000-$55,000/year, commensurate with experience

POSITION SUMMARY
The Education & Prevention Manager is responsible for overseeing all agency education and prevention programs, including: community education and awareness; primary prevention; training for professionals and adults; internal agency personnel training; and statewide training and technical assistance. The Education & Prevention Manager sets the tone, vision, and strategic plan for the department’s work and is responsible for planning, tracking, reporting on, and successfully completing all program progress and deliverables.

DAYS/HOURS

Full time, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday to include some flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Position requires employee to have scheduling flexibility as needed to support the team and meet the needs of this agency.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Education, Psychology, Mental Health or related human services field preferred. Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in management in social services, education, or related field will be considered.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and training facilitation.
Two or more years’ experience supervising or managing a team.
Program management experience in related field preferred
Knowledge of and commitment to domestic violence education and/or public health prevention models.
Experience managing public and private grants.
High degree of initiative, independence, and motivation.
Ability to work confidently and well in a flexible, multi-faceted role.
Commitment to and belief in the Agency’s mission to end domestic violence and abuse for everyone through education, intervention, and advocacy.
Proficient computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training/meeting platforms.
Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe/Acceptable driving history. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversee and provide direct support to all Education & Prevention department programs, including: community education, primary prevention education, professional/adult training, internal agency training, and statewide training and technical assistance.
Identify opportunities and seek out new partnerships while maintaining current community relationships and collaborations, including overseeing Education & Prevention department representation and active participation in local committees, groups, and initiatives.
Work with the Lead Education & Prevention Specialist to conduct ongoing research and analysis of education programming to ensure that all material and curricula are aligned with best practice methods. Create and implement an annual primary prevention strategic plan.
Maintain responsibility for planning, tracking, reporting on, and successfully completing all program deliverables.
Ensure the department’s ability to deliver quality training and education to agency personnel, including ensuring compliance with training requirements.
Provide contract management for statewide hotline and general training and technical assistance (T&TA), including reviewing monthly reports, conducting quality assurance reviews on training and publication content, communicating with the grant provider, providing support to T&TA programs, and supporting statewide training and technical assistance initiatives.
Manage Education & Prevention team’s collaboration with other departments for Agency initiatives, including donation campaign drives, on-campus enrichment events, and major Agency fundraising events.
Conduct trainings and presentations across all department program areas as needed. Provide the Education & Prevention team with a strong day-to-day leadership presence. Set the tone, vision, motivation, and mission for the department’s work.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Employee will be required to take the DCF Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
