- The Big Futures Manager position is a great fit for a dynamic program manager and relationship developer who has a passion to improve the lives of children in our community.
This position will serve as a role model to youth and be responsible for assisting in identifying curriculum and skills training opportunities, defining strategies, cultivating and developing collaborative partners, negotiating and preparing agreements, launching partnerships, and management of relationships to foster career and workforce development, skill building and employment opportunities for 12-25 year old children. The Big Futures Manager reports to Senior Programs Director or VP or Programs. The position has supervisory responsibility for a team of Program Specialists and is responsible for building relationships with community partners, mentors and advocates.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide 1-1 coaching support for students/young adults enrolled in the program.
- Identify curriculum for professional development, college readiness, vocational education, soft skills training, and technical skills training.
- Work with local experts to establish or identify competency-based standards or industry certifications to create a more highly qualified and technologically skilled youth workforce that matches labor market demand.
- Develop and implement an overall communication and outreach plan for the Big Futures Program for stakeholders, beneficiaries, partners, public, and staff.
- Report on program successes, impact, and achievement targeting a wide audience.
- Gathers labor market information, talent demand and skills requirements and translates data into meaningful information to create workforce development strategies.
- Develop and manage a database of employers and/or industry representatives and maintain regular communication through appropriate channels.
- Manage an existing pipeline of partnership opportunities with corporate, education and public partners.
- Schedule meetings with new partners, define solicitation strategies, and execution of agreements to create program collaboration with partner meeting agency goals.
- Maintain a strong understanding of BBBS programs and community resources to enhance and expand current initiatives.
- Solicit new partners through a variety of methods including 1-1, large/small group presentations and outreach to corporate partners, education, and economic development leaders.
- Oversee partner requirements and deliverables such as program outcomes, marketing metrics, testimonials, reports, etc. Work with marketing and programs team to ensure data is collected and reports are delivered.
- Manage scholarship application submission and award process.
- Manages staff. Other duties as needed
- including agency-wide fundraising events and recruitment.

Education Level:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced Degree a plus.
Years of Related Work Experience:
- Two to five years or more of related or equivalent direct experience managing education programs, partnership management, program curriculum development, and report management.
- Knowledge and experience with children services programs a plus.
Skill Requirements:
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and develop solutions quickly and effectively.
- Ability to acclimate to the desired positive and forward-thinking organizational culture.
- Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in technical areas such as
Microsoft Office:
Sharepoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- Proficiency with database and technology such as Matchforce/Salesforce is desired.
- Excellent oral communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in-person, electronically and via the telephone.
- Ability to use time effectively, work independently, focus on details, adapt to shifting priorities, and position and promote opportunities.
- Time management and communications skills to oversee advisory committees and groups.
- Presentation skills to effectively promote the agency mission and vision, both internally and externally that move people to action.
- Demonstrated ability to handle diverse projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and effectively manage workflow to meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal savvy to make connections with education, community and corporate leaders.
- Unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity and project a professional image of trust.
- Discretion to handle confidential information.
- Ability to travel routinely.
