Primary Purpose:
The Knowledge for Freedom Campus Life Mentor is responsible for managing student housing logistics, including room assignments and dorm supplies, and resolving any related issues. They also recruit, train, and supervise Resident Assistants (RAs), including hosting workshops and being present on campus during critical times. Additionally, they mentor high school students through their senior year by providing resources, organizing campus sessions, offering virtual support, and handling emergencies during the program.

DORMS:
Work with housing to reserve the rooms, assign students and RAs to rooms, make purchases of all dorm supplies, make sure students and RAs have access to the dorms, and address any dorm-related issues.
RAs:
Interview, hire, train, and supervise the resident assistants for the three weeks they work in the program. This includes offering a workshop during training week. It also means coming on campus during key points during the program, including on weekends e.g. when students are checking in or out or if there are any conflict-related issues that would benefit from the Campus Life Mentor’s presence.
STUDENTS
Provide mentoring for the high school students throughout their senior year while they apply to college. This includes planning sessions with them when they are on campus 4 – 6 times during their senior year, sharing resources that can help them with the application process, and meeting with them one-on-one virtually as needed. Helping to manage any kind of emergency situations that occur while students are in the dorms.
