Assistant Director, Loans 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Tallahassee, FL Department Office of Financial Aid Responsibilities The Office of Financial Aid is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management’s integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student’s development and progression in their academic experience – from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University. Position oversees the management, development, and administrative direction of the Loans program within the Office of Financial Aid (OFA). Responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating the daily functions of the federal and private student loans program. Oversees the operational processes of verifying, evaluating, and disbursing financial aid awards specific to the above programs ensures compliance with federal, state, and university regulations. Position manages the processing of disbursements and audit awards of all direct student loans, private educational loans as well as other financial aid in accordance with the established institutional methodology and state and federal regulations. Analyzes student financial aid data and verifies manual and systematic disbursement of awards. Interpreting financial aid rules and policies from internal and external sources. Assists with the training and advising of military/veteran students regarding Federal and/or private student loan programs to ensure all Federal Title IV aid requirements are met. Oversees the development and implementation of internal and university audit procedures within the loan program and ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid and university payroll regulations in all aspects of operations and program matters. Analyze financial aid to validate and confirm accuracy of all reports as it pertains to programs and processes. Trains University employees (A&P, USPS, and OPS) and is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all direct reports. Assists other sections during peak times to support the goals of the Office of Financial Aid. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of related experience. (

a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.) Preferred Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of experience related to student financial aid are preferred. Candidates should be detail-oriented, and work well independently as well as in a team. Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments. Preferred candidates should have experience with compiling, reviewing, and editing financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and should possess a strong sense of initiative while managing multiple responsibilities concurrently. Working knowledge of FSU Human Resources policies and procedures. Previous supervisory experience.
