Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Director of Financial Aid conducts overviews of student financial aid, entrance and exit interviews, and packages financial aid for all new student enrollments, as well as continuing students. Responsible for forecasting cash in-flow for the school. Awards and tracks Federal Pell Grants and other federal student loans, Student Educational Opportunity Grants and Federal Work Study.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum three to five years’ experience in Financial Aid. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor the Funded/Unfunded Report daily to ensure proper forecasts in cash flow and aid is paid timely. Monitor and track financial aid office and financial aid staff’s progress with new student packaging, continuing student repackages, document collection, unpaid aid, financial packaging to get aid disbursed in a timely manner by ensuring that all new, re-entry and continuing student packaging is ready for approval. Hold weekly accountability meetings with financial aid staff for any unpaid or unprocessed student aid. Supervise of the Financial Aid Office team and assigning responsibilities. Ensure proper awarding of Federal funds and completion of verification. Audits and certifies all files for each start date including verification of all documents uploaded. Monitor, evaluate, and recommend financial aid to qualified student applicants. Meet with students to analyze student eligibility for financial aid; review and approve student loans. Input FAFSAs daily and print needs analysis for file review, monitor, and adjust student aid awards as necessary. Resolve student appeals pertaining to their financial aid eligibility/awards. Assist with Return Title IV Funds (R2T4). Update Enrollment Reporting. Participate in weekly financial aid calls, as well as all training calls, with the Regional Director of Financial Aid.
