Director of Financial Aid Doral College 2525 NW 112th Avenue, Doral, FL 33172 Overview Accredited college in the Doral area offering online undergraduate and graduate degrees seeks experienced financial aid professional to design and implement all aspects of its developing Financial Aid program. The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for managing daily functions of the Financial Aid Office and the administration of financial aid programs consistent with federal regulations, accreditation, state and/or Veteran Education Benefits requirements for awarding student aid. This position also assists students and parents with determining financial aid eligibility and implements financial aid procedures. The Director of Financial Aid reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Responsibilities Analyzes state and federal financial assistance regulations to ensure compliance and eligibility Creates and revises policies and procedures related to the financial aid program Designs and conducts informational and training sessions for students Assists and advises students and parents in the application process, and as applicable, in the availability of various funding sources Informs students as to their rights and responsibilities related to student financial assistance Calculates and verifies demonstrated need of student, including verification, and corrects data as needed to determine eligibility Oversees of the management of federal student grants, loans and work study, state grants and scholarships, as well as institutional and local scholarship funding Prepares and completes financial aid reports Resolves financial aid concerns within federal, state and institutional guidelines Monitors student satisfactory academic progress (SAP) in relation to financial aid, and notifies students of any changes in eligibility as it pertains to SAP Monitors institutional cohort default rate Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience A minimum of four (4) years related experience required Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently as well within group settings Ability to effectively analyze and interpret mandated policies, procedures and regulations Excellent organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Salary commensurate with experience.
