Position Title Assistant Director, Student Success Job Type Staff FT/PT Full-Time Employee Class Description P1-Staff exempt General Position Description Under the leadership of the Director of Student Success, this position is responsible for training, managing, and evaluating the student success coaches on assigned campuses. Supports the development and implementation of departmental operational procedures. Partners with leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of coaching outcomes and systems.

Provides co-leadership in developing strategies to improve students’ experience, persistence, retention, and graduation. Description of Job Function 2. Hires and supervises assigned student success coaches. Guides, evaluates, and distributes work. Description of Job Function 3. Collaborates with the Student Success Leadership Team to coordinate and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and quality coaching services across the college. Description of Job Function 4. Assesses staff use of technologies, coaching tools, and dashboards, as well as established metrics such as student engagement, student persistence, graduation, and transfer readiness. Trains and supports staff on use of technology and tools. Description of Job Function 5. Ensures that there is appropriate staff coverage to support a variety of service delivery models, such as group, one-on-one, and online coaching. Description of Job Function 6. Works with college-wide student success coaches to ensure consistency of coaching practices, communication plans, and proactive strategies. Description of Job Function 7. In partnership with the Director of Student Success, reviews survey results to ensure continuous improvement of coaching curriculum and student learning outcomes. Description of Job Function 8. Analyzes data, produces reports and makes data-informed decisions that support coaching and college goals. Description of Job Function 9. Develops new student onboarding programs and activities. Manages schedules to ensure training and coverage. Description of Job Function 10. Serves as liaison to academic departments and other stakeholders. Required Field of Study Other Required Qualifications Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in academic advising/coaching; experience in a team lead capacity or leading others. Skill in effectively communicating, interpersonally, orally, in writing, and through group facilitation. Ability to organize work, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to research the educational policies and graduation requirements of any college or university. Ability to collaborate with other college departments to resolve issues to full resolution. Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds.
