Your impact The Assistant to the Dean of Students and Operations is responsible for assisting the Dean of Students to manage student-related affairs, responding to students’ needs, create and maintain a safe, strong, and caring school environment and culture that incubates the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students in an all-inclusive model. To be successful, you must have: Bachelor’s degree in education administration, business administration, psychology, or any related field. An energetic and positive approach to responsibilities Valid Florida Educator Certificate A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a high/middle school environment Proven classroom management skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process with frequent interruptions and resetting priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse groups, and speak with employees, students’ parents, and visitors. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and skills. Able to work with minimal supervision and to stay calm in chaotic environments or situations. Able to connect and relate well with students, parents, teachers, and administrators, including the involvement of challenging and emotionally charged circumstances. It is a plus if you have: Experience and/or coursework in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling Training in behavioral management techniques Experience serving in students’ services/ discipline administrative role.

Assist the Dean of Students in serving as a point of contact for students and responding to students’ needs. Assist in providing practical commitment to support students in academic, personal, and social development programs. Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students Assist in responding to, solving parent, and students’ matters, and in meeting with students, parents, teachers, SRO (School Resource Officer), and law enforcement. Assist in designing and implementing special education/ behavioral school programs Assists in tackling student matters, struggles, addressing conduct, and disciplinary action. Promote school values and assist in maintaining a positive culture Participate in mandatory meetings and training to improve administrative skills. Assist in monitoring and organizing attendance functions. Assist in setting up drills, safety and security-related policies, procedures, and training Assume the duties of the Dean of Students in the absence of the Dean of the Students and as assigned

Student Support Services Function:

Deliver exceptional student-centered services including ensuring students’ safety and wellbeing, accuracy, and availability of student records, student behavioral and academic support, and all other student services. Respond to students’ concerns and inquiries Support students with issues related to student services, school policies, procedures, and rules. Explain the school’s rules and policies to the students and their parents. Encourage the students and assist them to develop into responsible citizens School Safety and campus monitoring function: Ensure and maintain the safety and well-being of the students on campus. Participate in creating and maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students and faculty. Support the design and implementation of safety protocols and participate in designing and conducting various safety drills. Supervise students during the transition, recess, lunch, dismissal, and all other activities. Monitor hallways and ensure a safe transition between classes. Collaborate with pertinent parties to promote a safe and nurturing school culture Supervise students on campus before and after school. Always be present and visible during school hours. Collaborate with pertinent stakeholders to develop and execute emergency plans. Attendance, behavior, and PASS room related function: Work in partnership with pertinent parties to support the school in attendance enhancement efforts. Assist in enforcing the effective use of a school-wide behavior plan. Assist in addressing and decreasing tardiness to reduce its impact on class distraction and to ensure students are not missing their crucial learning hours. Work eagerly to support structuring programs targeting students with challenging academic performance to ensure student success in attaining their educational/ behavioral goals. Work in partnership with the Dean of Students, teachers, mental health counselor, and students who have exceptional behavior and/or social-emotional health needs. Communicate with parents to address truancy and attendance issues including preparing letters, calling parents, and attending meetings as needed, concerning absences or Address student’s unacceptable behavior and encourage students to adjust it to an appropriate behavior Assist in implementing disciplinary procedures in accordance with school and district policies and applicable laws. Participate in disciplining students in accordance with the school’s established standards and in compliance with the applicable laws. Supervise students while in the PASS room when serving their PASS. Ensure students are adhering to PASS room rules. Facilitate PASS room discussions. Supervise aftercare/ school support/ food services staff function: Communicate organizational needs to subordinates. Provide guidance, support, and identify the development needs of subordinates. Supervise and evaluate the performance of Aftercare, Support, and Food Services staff. Assign tasks to subordinates as appropriate to accomplish school goals. Support and encourage subordinates to accomplish the school’s goals. Direct the work of carline duty staff Campus and cafeteria tidiness monitoring function: Monitor and inspect to ensure constant cleanliness of the cafeteria and campus ground. Ensure that the standards of cleanliness are observed. Direct and assign appropriate staff members to clean campus grounds. Direct and assign appropriate staff members to clean and tidy cafeteria success.

Managing Carline Duty Function:

Oversee carline operations, drop-off, and dismissal. Supervise students, sustaining order to ensure good behavior during drop-off, and pick-up time. Direct and adhere to implemented procedures in case of accidents or injuries. Communicate traffic and crossing rules and other information to staff on car duty. Oversee traffic movement or alert of hazards. Instruct staff on carline duty to stop speeding vehicles and ask them to slow down. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal or their designee
