Provides leadership for the assigned program focused on Valencia’s students and community. In collaboration with the Director of College Access Programs, supports the creation of tools to measure and assess program goals. Description of Job Function 2. Collaborates with the Director to create, and implement procedures, providing operational leadership for the assigned program. Evaluates alternative courses of action; guides the direction of the assigned program to include project implementation to meet departmental strategic goals within budget and time constraints. Description of Job Function 3. Manages assigned staff including conducting performance reviews and providing guidance and support. Description of Job Function 4. Partners with various college departments to develop outreach strategies for the entire program cycle that includes: on-campus programming, targeted communication plans and deployment of resources for students through the website, telephone, email and print materials. Description of Job Function 5. Manages assigned team to ensure students are guided through the enrollment process and transition successfully into the program. Description of Job Function 6. Assists with leading the design and facilitation of the program training sessions for staff and in the community by scheduling meetings and providing on-going support to promote awareness and support of the assigned program. Ensures information provided is routinely updated, accurate and consistent. Description of Job Function 7. Collaborates with staff, faculty and leadership to design and implement strategies for retention and completion of the assigned program. Assesses efficacy of the strategies, identifying patterns and areas of concern, to ensure students experience a supportive educational environment. Reports findings to senior leadership. Description of Job Function 8. Builds meaningful partnerships within the community and the college to advance the work of the assigned program. Creates opportunities to connect the work to other college initiatives. Description of Job Function 9. Ensures and provides timely, informed responses to concerns from students, parents/guardians, school and district personnel, college departments, and/or community members. Assists the Director with all reporting, data collection, and analysis to evaluate the program and articulate outcomes in support of the college impact plan and other required reporting. Required Field of Study Other Required Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in education; experience in a team lead capacity or leading others. Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College’s worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.
