Director of International Student Services 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 901 S Flagler Dr, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 SUMMARY In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Director of International Student Services (ISS) provides leadership, oversight, and direct support for all international students at the West Palm Beach and Orlando campuses. This role ensures compliance with U.S. government regulations for students with F-1 Visas; supports student success academically, socially, and spiritually; and oversees the ISS Office’s daily operations. The Director also serves as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and the main point of contact for SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program). Regulatory Compliance and SEVIS Administration Serves as PDSO for West Palm Beach and Orlando campuses. Trains and supports Designated School Officials (DSOs). Ensures institutional compliance with SEVP regulations and maintains certification. Files SEVP school recertification (every two years). Updates and maintains I-17 school information and DSO lists. Monitors SEVIS compliance, including: Registering students each semester. Updating student records (address, phone, email, program changes). Authorizing reduced course loads for academic purposes or due to approved medical circumstances. Authorizing employment work authorizations (CPT, OPT, off-campus employment, economic hardship). Creating new SEVIS records and terminating records as necessary. Investigates international student issues and reports cases to SEVP and USCIS as required. International Student Advising and Support Provides guidance for international students (F-1 and non-F-1) on maintaining legal status, immigration questions, driver’s licenses, Social Security Numbers, employment, and other benefits. Assists students with academic concerns, ensuring compliance with normal progress regulations. Offers resources for student entry and adjustment to life in the U.S. and at the university. Conducts new international student orientation for fall, spring, and summer terms. Develops and updates resources, including the International Student Portal in Canvas. Monitors and updates the Affidavit of Financial Support and tuition/fee expenses chart annually. Sends reminders to students regarding travel, employment, registration, and SEVIS compliance. Facilitates workshops and activities for international student engagement. Office Management and University Collaboration Trains, supports, and supervises the ISS team. Reviews and updates office policies and procedures to ensure efficiency. Maintains comprehensive student data reports and provides updates to university departments. Serves as a primary resource for Admissions Counselors regarding F-1 visa regulations. Serves as the main point of contact for PBA faculty and staff on F-1 visa compliance matters. Works with PBA Legal Counsel on student issues as needed. Attends university training sessions and professional development seminars. Provides free notary services for students, faculty, and staff. Programming and Student Engagement Organizes and hosts cultural and social events tailored to international students. Plans workshops and outreach initiatives to support international student inclusivity. Assists with university-wide projects related to international students.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, International Education, Student Affairs, Business Administration, Public Administration, Intercultural Studies, or related field required; master’s degree preferred. Certification as DSO (Designated School Official), required or must be willing to obtain; PDSO, preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3+ years’ experience in multicultural relations and/or international student services in a higher education setting. Must possess a strong understanding of F-1 Visa policies, SEVIS management, and institutional compliance.
