The State College of Florida is hiring two Deans ofAcademic Affairs. One position will oversee departments within theDivision of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The otherposition will oversee departments within the Division of Math,Science, Technology and Business.

Understanding and knowledge of collective bargaining agreementsand faculty union relations. Develops goals and objectives for the division in support ofthe College’s goals and strategic plan. Fosters an environment of collaboration and collegiality withinthe division and across the College. Serves to enhance communication between various College officesas it relates to division and College operations andinterests. Works collaboratively with all divisions of the Collegeincluding the Foundation. Establishes and maintains relationships with local K-12schools, colleges and universities, businesses, and community-basedorganizations to promote and benefit enrollment, academicprogramming, and academic readiness. Actively participates in strategic planning and accreditationrelated initiatives. Actively participates in state-wide committees and workgroupsas needed. Represents the College externally. Oversees all academic programming within the division includingscheduling and staffing to ensure programs are delivered across theCollege in an efficient, effective, and consistent manner. Collaborates with all appropriate personnel to develop andimplement strategic enrollment management initiatives and assumeshared responsibility for meeting or exceeding performance targetsfor student recruitment, enrollment, completion, and transfer orjob placement. Actively participates in the production of academic affairsstandard operating procedures, operations manuals, andhandbooks. Monitors and reports on student enrollment, persistence,retention, completion and other success metrics for the programsand courses within the division and leads continuous improvementefforts. Recommends for hire, supervises, mentors, and evaluates facultyand staff, including department chairs and program directors withinthe division. Develops, implements and evaluates courses, programs, distancelearning offerings, and related curricular matters, in cooperationwith faculty and other College staff as appropriate for relevancy,rigor, sequencing, and efficacy. Develops, implements, and assesses programs within the divisionand reports on their effectiveness. Makes recommendations for newprogram development and the sunsetting of existing programs. Oversees the development of two-year course schedules thatalign with institutional initiatives. Approves and monitors faculty teaching loads and payrollauthorizations within the division. Fosters an environment of teaching excellence and the use oflearner-centered instructional strategies. Prepares and administers the division budget. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Master’s degree from a regionallyaccredited postsecondary institution; doctorate preferred.
Postsecondary teaching experience preferably in a primary educationfield represented in the Academic Division. Three or more years ofexperience in academic administration required; Or the equivalentcombination of experience and education.
Supervisory Experience:
Three to five years of directsupervisory experience including responsibility for hiring, firing,performance management, training and coaching is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to write reports and businesscorrespondence. Ability to effectively present information in groupsettings and to respond to the public, colleagues, and students.
Excellent English listening and speaking skills are required.
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, andadministrators.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such asdiscounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,circumferences, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, andpercent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to applyconcepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
