Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience administering financial aid programs, with at least two (2) years in a management capacity.
Proficiency in PeopleSoft, MS Office, and other reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Experience working in Public Higher Education.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Financial Aid Operations will providing day-to-day direction and oversight of a team of Coordinators, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, and reporting.
The Director will coordinate and oversee administration of all state, federal, and institutional awarding, Satisfactory Academic Progress processing, Student Employment, Return of Title IV funds, and Clock Hour awarding.
The Director of Financial Aid Operations monitors funding allocations, provides financial-aid related advisement, presentations, reporting, and establishes policies and procedures in compliance with current federal, state and institutional guidelines.
Proactively establish strategies for managing high volume periods, working collaboratively with campus partners, including Student Accounts, IT, Academic Advising, Student Life, Admissions, Registration, to enhance the student experience.
Analyzes Financial Aid regulations and legislation to ensure compliance.
Assists the Executive Director with analysis, preparation, and compilation of information for financial aid reports and audits.
Keep staff informed and involved, demonstrate, and promote high standards for quality, productivity, and service.
Collaborates with the Executive Director to develop institutional policies, procedures and training, as well as identify, monitor, and mitigate risks related to financial aid, including potential fraud and non-compliance issues. Develop and maintain proactive, timely communications to keep students informed of their eligibility.
Ensure prompt responses to inquiries from students, staff, and College leadership.
Attend and conduct College meetings to provide guidance and updates related to financial aid
Serve as liaison both internally and externally, including participation in professional development related to Financial Aid programs, and recommending improvements to department practices, policies, and processes to meet College enrollment goals.
Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
Reports to: Executive Director, Financial Aid.

Demonstrated expert level computing skills and technological proficiency with database and data manipulation products.
Demonstrated experience in analyzing and recommending significant improvements in departmental operations.
Demonstrated skills as a hands-on leader, dedicated to developing, training, coaching, mentoring, and retaining a strong team.
Ability to effectively communicate with students and College personnel.
Strong conceptual, logical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to remain flexible, navigate change, and meet objectives within limited time frames.
