Job Description

[]{#docs-internal-guid-79a5bd99-7fff-8bfc-21be-2a1b612479aa}The Dean of Distance Education and Academic Success will provide the vision, leadership, strategic direction and expertise to assist the Vice President of Academic Affairs in attaining the college’s overall institutional goals. S/He will be responsible for the development and supervision of the college’s Distance Learning Academic programs and help to promote the college to public and private organizations along with supporting student academic success. This position provides leadership and direction in the creation, assessment, and coordination of retention and student success strategies. The Dean will have direct responsibility and oversight for developing, leading, implementing, and evaluating the strategic student success and retention plan. Planning will be aligned with the mission, vision, core values and strategic goals of the College. The Dean of Distance Education and Academic Success will manage the areas of Library Services and Distance Education, which includes eCampus.

  • No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens.

Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Periodic travel between major Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in a related field

  • and•Three (3) years of related work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: 3+ years supervisory experience in an upper management position with a college or university within the University System of GA or Technical College System of GA. This management experience should be directly related to Academic Affairs, Adult Education Services, Institutional Effectiveness or a closely related unit/area.
