Job Summary The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for maintaining high-quality service to all stakeholders and promoting excellence and innovation in the delivery of financial aid. The Director will maintain regulatory compliance in the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial assistance programs and scholarships. Responsibilities Duty 1

  • Responsible for developing and directing systems, policies and procedures for successful operation of the Financial Aid Office. Duty 2
  • Ensures adherence with federal, state, and Board of Regents (BOR) financial aid policies and procedures. This includes maintaining and submitting required federal, state, and BOR financial aid related reporting. Duty 3
  • Maintains Department of Education policy changes and circulate to impacted stakeholders and departments. Duty 4
  • Develops and implements initiatives to enhance and support student retention and overall student enrollment. Duty 5
  • Collaborates with the Middle Georgia State University foundation office to administer foundation scholarship funds. Duty 6
  • Monitors student loan default rate and initiatives to manage student indebtedness. Duty 7
  • Manages department’s budget and resource allocation. Duty 8
  • Oversees the administrative functions of the Financial Aid Office. Ensure staff are supported through professional development aimed at improving efficiencies and performing within federal, state, and BOR policies. Duty 9
  • Demonstrates motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the University’s mission. Duty 10
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree required. Required Experience Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience. Experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to supervise.
