Position Summary:
Working with minimal supervision and in accordance with written policies, procedures and general objectives and mission of the University and external agencies, this position performs as a collaborative team player in carrying out daily office operations within the Registrar’s Office.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
Evaluate transfer credit, in accordance with university, state and external agency policies and perform data processing activities related to evaluation processes; Assists with processing related to course and room scheduling and student registration functions. Assists with grade processing functions. Prepares data and transmits to National Student Clearinghouse/National Student Loan Data System as required. Represents the Registrar at meetings and functions as requested. Assist with the implementation of events including admissions events, Honors Day, Commencement, and New Student Orientation. Assists with compilation of student information for data requests and processing of graduation audits as needed. Participate in general administrative office tasks including telephone coverage, transcript processing, transient requests, enrollment verification, and customer service functions. Abides by the normal working schedule of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or other established working hours of the Office of the Registrar. Other duties as assigned by Registrar and/or Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs/Provost.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Performance requires: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to promote a professional image when working with students and/or families, faculty and staff, administrators from other agencies, college alumni and others. Demonstrated ability to interact in a customer-friendly manner. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility to work alone and with a team. Ability to approach records and registration office operations with creative and innovative ideas. Comfortable working in an environment where work hours may involve nights and weekends. Demonstrated proficiency with database management, word processing, and spreadsheets applications, preferable MS Word and Excel; knowledge of financial aid database management, preferably Jenzabar EX. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution with 2 – 3 years of work experience, preferably in a college or university student records or admissions office or in a customer service related environment. Computer literate, including word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet applications. Demonstrated skills in communications, interpersonal relations, and problem solving.
