Job Description
•Description•The Technical Education Manager is responsible for driving growth and building brand connection through the planning and execution of superior, mission-based, technical education for the salon, spa, and Institute channels. This person will manage a team of POD-based, cross-domain education teams to create and implement education calendars and programs that address the needs of the diverse audiences in each channel to achieve brand business objectives and support the achievement of sales goals, service goals and service benchmarks across channels. This manager will oversee the training, support and scheduling of full-time and freelance educators within their pod. This role requires a deep understanding of all retail and professional domains of Aveda as well as the ability to train and inspire others. The manager will also conduct technical trainings for select Aveda accounts and will participate in Aveda shows, events and national trainings as needed. + Partner with sales & education team to deliver holistic education and recommended execution journeys across all domains to achieve business goals + Manage and develop a team of Education Specialists to achieve highest standards of technical excellence and productivity and achieve growth targets + Develop POD-based education calendars and manage Education Planners to create education programming to deliver sales growth + Create strategies to assess and evaluate results of technical training and create plans to drive sales and continuously improve results + Track best practices and coach team members to swiftly implement strategies across salon, spa and Institute channels + Share best practices with colleagues and leadership for implementation in all regions when appropriate + Build and maintain excellent working relationships with respective teams + Spot new service trends in the market and conduct competitive reviews and determine appropriate action + Provide necessary support to Executive Director NA Field Education to support technical education programs + Facilitate in-salon classes, cluster classes, special events and specialist training + Recruitment and monitoring of ambassador and purefessional rosters for their POD. + Collaborating with national education managers to ensure ongoing skill/development and training are in alignment with brand direction. + Purefessional and Ambassador tracking, management and training + Facilitate top account and Institute training + Develop and facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring consistency and excellence in technical education. •Qualifications•+ Demonstrated ability to deliver technical training/education plans that drive sales results to a diverse audience + Goal oriented and measurement focused + Exceptional verbal and written communication skills + Exceptional training/presentation skills including the ability to present to large audiences + Successful in-salon experience + Passion for both technical artistry and the business of beauty, with a natural ability to connect the two. + Strong leadership skills including an entrepreneurial business approach + An entrepreneurial spirit including the ability to make decisions as if the business were one’s own + Excellent leadership and organizational skills + Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory + Ability to manage highly creative teams + Computer proficiency in MAC and PC operations + Ability to work a flexible schedule as business dictates including evenings and weekends as needed + Ability to travel, lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and to transport own luggage while traveling + Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insuranceEqual Opportunity Employer It is Company’s policy not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions), gender identity or gender expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition as defined by applicable state or local law, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.
