We are looking for a passionate and committed Dean of Culture to foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering school climate where all students thrive. Position Overview The Dean of Culture plays a vital leadership role in creating a positive, structured, and engaging environment for students and staff. This role requires a leader who can build strong relationships, implement school-wide behavior systems, and model high expectations for behavior, accountability, and respect. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain a strong, positive school culture aligned with the school’s core values. Lead the design and implementation of behavior systems, rituals, and routines. Support teachers in developing strong classroom culture and student relationships. Lead restorative practices, conflict resolution efforts, and student interventions. Monitor and analyze behavior data to identify trends and inform proactive strategies. Oversee arrival, transitions, lunch, dismissal, and other key parts of the school day. Collaborate with families, counselors, and support teams to ensure student well-being. Serve as a visible presence throughout the building and mentor students consistently. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. 2+ years experience working with high school students in urban or high-needs settings. Demonstrated success in managing student behavior and supporting school culture. Strong belief in restorative justice, relationship-based discipline, and equity. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
