We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 – 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK – 8th at full capacity. Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks an Academic Interventionist with a Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, and/or Curriculum & Instruction; Reading Specialist and/or elementary school certification desirable; 3-5 years+ experience with small group academic support for elementary school students with proven record of increasing literacy and math skills. A strong candidate will have an expertise in how to administer and analyze results from a wide-range of diagnostic assessments, experience with instructional coaching and pushing into classrooms is an asset. Knowledge of the Response to Intervention process is essential. Ability to work in collaboration with a wide array of teachers and school leaders is essential. Knowledge of the Louisiana Student Standards and the current LEAP Assessments is required. Interest in leading extracurricular student activities is a plus. Position available August 2025.
