Under the general supervision of the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Interim Executive Director of Financial Aid at Xavier University of Louisiana is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the financial aid programs, including federal, state, institutional, and private aid. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the University’s enrollment and retention goals by ensuring compliance with regulations while providing exceptional service to students and their families. The Executive Director serves as a strategic leader within the Enrollment Management team and works closely with other departments to align financial aid policies and practices with the University’s broader objectives. AA/EOE Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. At least 5 years of experience in financial aid, with a preference for candidates with leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred. Expertise in financial aid packaging and planning for diverse student populations. Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives that enhance enrollment and student retention. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing financial aid, including conducting regular reviews and updates to maintain policies and procedures. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of financial aid processing software and ensures seamless integration with other systems. Develops and implements financial aid packaging policies and monitors awarding procedures to ensure fairness and consistency. Collaborates with the Bursar’s Office and other departments to ensure timely disbursement of financial aid and reconciliation of student accounts. Promotes financial aid awareness and communicates with prospective and current students and families to ensure understanding of available resources. Provides guidance and leadership in the preparation of state, federal, and institutional reports, including the FISAP, Pell Grant Program reports, and other compliance audits. Manages a high-performing financial aid office, including staff recruitment, training, and performance management. Develops and monitors budgets for financial aid operations and ensures cost-effective use of resources. Serves as a key member of the Enrollment Management team, working collaboratively to develop strategies to enhance recruitment, retention, and graduation rates. Advises academic departments, faculty, and administration on issues related to financial aid, program eligibility, and student success. Leads financial aid workshops, presentations, and information sessions for students, faculty, and community partners. Monitors the effectiveness of financial aid programs and initiatives, making adjustments as needed to maximize impact and student success.
