Full-time (37.5 hours per week); benefit-eligible; Exempt Salary range: $45,000-$50,000 per year, including housing Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Assistant Director of Campus Life (ADCL) will work to provide our diverse student body with safe and comfortable living environments on campus and coordinate co-curricular programming within the Student Affairs area. The ADCL will supervise the resident assistants. The ADCL works collaboratively with the security, facilities, and student financial services staff on matters pertaining to the residence halls and resident students. The ADCL will support new student orientation, as well as campus clubs and organizations. They will advise, support and guide students to help them grow and develop through one-on-one interactions, programming, engagement opportunities, educational outreach, supervision and by advising. The ADCL will collaborate with campus partners to ensure student success, engagement, and retention. This is a full-time position. On-campus housing is required as part of this role and is provided as a tax-free benefit.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervises Resident Assistants in their role as community developers within the residence halls. Includes providing training, guidance and evaluation around group dynamics, communication skills, conflict mediation, crisis management, academics, and community building/programming efforts. Coordinates academic, educational, and social programs and initiatives to make students’ living environment enjoyable, safe and comfortable and while offering skills development. This involves connecting with other departments, faculty and community members to ensure the growth and development of Montserrat students. Provide tracking of all resident assistant programming. Assists resident students with all aspects of community living, including, but not limited to, facilities issues, chores coordination, roommate conflicts and apartment mediations. Assists the Dean of Students with aspects of residence life, including, but not limited to, move-in and move-out, key distribution and collection, damage billing, room assignments, and room selection processes. Encourages participation in, and development of, student clubs and organizations. Assist students with club development including preparation of paperwork, advisor selection, review of policies. Clubs and organizations should provide students with opportunities to develop leadership and programming skills, instill a sense of community, and promote student success and retention. Assists with New Student Orientation including, but not limited to, orientation leader recruitment, selection, training and supervision; and starter kit distribution coordination. Coordinates all aspects of summer and academic break housing. Serves in the Administrator On Call (AOC) rotation. Attends campus meetings, including Student Affairs staff meetings and trainings, and campus-wide Community Meetings. Assists with, and participates in, Student Affairs-wide events such as late night breakfast, orientation, move-in, kickball day, etc. Works closely with the Admissions department during events, coordinating tours of campus residences as needed. Assists with, and participate in, campus-wide events including, but not limited to, Convocation, Commencement, Admissions Open Houses, Accepted Students Day, the College-wide Open House/Recognition day, and Artrageous. Coordinates the schedule for drivers for the weekly grocery runs and at other times as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, Masters Degree preferred 2-4 years experience, including college residence life experience and campus involvement Developed skills in communication (written and verbal), conflict resolution, supervision, advising/counseling, problem solving, time management, systems management and crisis management. Must have a strong attention to detail and follow-through. Google Suite computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Previous experience as a live-in/on residence life staff member preferred.
