Position Overview The Accessibility Services Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring equal access to College programs, services, and activities for students with disabilities. This position coordinates accommodations, maintains compliance with federal and state disability laws, and promotes a more inclusive and supportive campus environment. Reporting to the Dean of Student Life, this role involves direct student service, faculty collaboration, and education on accessibility best practices in higher education. Key Responsibilities Direct Student Support (85%) Meet with students to evaluate documentation and determine appropriate academic and/or housing accommodations. Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student accommodations and services. Communicate with faculty and staff to ensure effective implementation of accommodations and resolve concerns. Support the academic, artistic, and personal development of students with disabilities. Program Support and Outreach (15%) Develop and deliver educational training and materials to increase disability awareness and promote inclusive practices. Serve as an institutional resource on accessibility and compliance issues. Stay current with evolving laws, technologies, and best practices in accessibility and disability services in higher education.

What We’re Looking For Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, counseling, behavioral science, disability services, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other relevant disability-related regulations.

Experience:

Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a college or university setting. Experience evaluating disability documentation and determining reasonable accommodations. Familiarity with a wide range of disabilities, including cognitive, psychiatric, medical, and sensory conditions. Experience with assistive technology and student support systems. Experience conducting training or outreach related to accessibility and inclusion.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Commitment to equity and inclusion, particularly in support of students with diverse identities and experiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. What We Offer This is a part-time position that offers up to 20 hours per week during the following periods: January 1 to April 15 (Spring Semester) June 1 to November 30 (Summer & Fall Semesters) Compensation for the position is $35.00/hr.
