Job Description
IEP Coordinator for the Brunswick School Department
Brunswick’s Special Education Department is excited to advertise for the position of IEP Coordinator. We are seeking a dynamic, flexible, highly organized individual to provide appropriate oversight and administration of the Department’s IEP meeting requirements and to support the Department’s adherence to all timelines and requirements of special education laws and regulations. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, an independent work ethic, an ability to build positive relationships with families, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to collaborate with special educators, regular educators, service providers, and administrators as appropriate.
Responsibilities will include:
Provide effective administration of the Department’s IEP meeting processes;
Review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for identified students to assure that each IEP is complete, well-written, and in compliance with state and federal regulations;
Provide feedback and training to special education case managers in regards to paperwork compliance;
Create and review documentation associated with IEP meetings and ensure alignment with Department procedures and federal and state regulations;
Ensure case manager compliance with all special education timelines as required in the Child Find, evaluation, and IEP processes;
Attend and serve as the department’s administrator authorized to commit Department funds at all initial eligibility, annual, and reevaluation IEP meetings, and other IEP meetings as determined by the Special Education Director
This position is located at the central office with in district travel required
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience as Teacher of Students With Disabilities
State of Maine 282 certification
