Director of Residential Services Maine Family Services, LLC Saco, ME 04072
Position Summary:
The Director of Residential Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for our agency’s residential programs, which support adults with developmental disabilities with a live-in group home model. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the effective management of residential operations.
Program Leadership & Oversight:
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe, supportive, and high-quality residential services. Oversee daily operations of multiple group homes, ensuring consistent and effective service delivery. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing requirements.
Staff Management & Development:
Foster a positive work environment that promotes staff retention and professional growth. Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training to maintain high standards of care. Developing daily schedules and staffing patterns for all new clients Overseeing monthly house meetings and developing monthly agendas for
House Managers Client Care & Advocacy:
Managing all new client intakes and coordination Responding to all vendor calls and follow-ups Coordinating and attending all potential new client meet-and-greets and tours Following up to ensure service locations are entered into KEPRO for billing Attending most team meetings for all clients, including IST meetings and coordinate council meetings Managing PCP pre-planning, Evergreen entries, and attending PCP meetings for clients Tracking KEPRO authorization due dates and available units for each client Submitting and following up on all KEPRO authorizations, including coordination with CRTs and case managers Entering all Reportable Events (REs) into Evergreen for every client Follow up on Reportable Events, including gathering supporting documentation (e.g., meeting dates, FA, and PSP dates, etc.), and saving in SharePoint Ensure the development and implementation of individualized care plans that promote clients’ independence and quality of life. Advocate for clients’ rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Collaborate with families, guardians, and external service providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, implementing improvements as needed. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high-quality services and safe living environments.j Participating in quarterly quality control meetings regarding state reporting Maintaining ongoing follow-up and coordination with case managers and guardians. Conducting weekly home visit
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or administrative role. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing residential care facilities.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and staff effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, families, staff, and external partners. Proficiency in electronic health records and standard office software. Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ability to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with flexibility to respond to emergencies or urgent issues outside regular business hours. Regular travel to various group home locations within the Saco & Portland areas.
Compensation & Benefits:
