MinMidMax $62,441$78,041$93,641 Role Summary Manages services, programming, staff management and budget planning for a program to promote student learning and development.
This leadership position supervises professional, graduate, and undergraduate staff who manage residence halls. The incumbent oversees the daily operations for an assigned area and coordinates one of the following large processes for the entire residence hall system: Training and Development, Recruitment and Selection, Student Leadership, or Residential Experiences. This position also functions as a key member of the Residential Experience Leadership Team, and serves on a duty rotation. Examples of Work Performed
Provides strategic vision for a residential area of campus.
Provides planning and oversight to an area of focus.
Coordinates development of a welcoming environment that encourages students to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and ethically toward personal autonomy and interdependence.
Chairs and advises committees that provide direction in implementing department-wide programming efforts for students and staff.
Supervises full-time Community Coordinators, graduate assistants, and student staff members.
Conducts supervisory meetings and completes formal and informal performance appraisals for staff members.
Conducts weekly meetings to disseminate departmental and area goals, priorities, and directives to residence hall staff.
Provides direction and guidance for the day-to-day operation of the residence halls.
Provides guidance and mentorship to staff regarding professional development, continual in-service training, and career planning.
Fosters out of class interaction between students, staff, and faculty members to foster and enhance student learning and development in the residential experience/setting.
Coordinates accommodations and programs for special populations including student athletes, international students, fraternity/sorority members, graduate students, etc.
Completes and oversees administrative tasks, including using and supervising the use of multiple software packages for occupancy management, conduct, hall security, and maintenance.
Develops and manages multiple budgets.
Approves purchase request authorizations, reconciles receipts, and tracks area spending.
Collaborates with Operations staff to approve room changes, recommend contract and policy revisions, coordinate check-ins and check-outs, accommodate comfort and assistance animals, etc.
Serves as a hearing officer working to adjudicate residential student cases involving serious charges or student recidivism.
Recommends student contract review and removal from student housing or administrative room changes when necessary.
Collaborates with campus and community partners to provide needed services for residential students, including UPD, Office of Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct, Dean of Students Office, Student Counseling Center, Center for Student Success and First Year Experience, Center for Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement, Violence Prevention Office, etc.
Serves as an emergency responder for the on-campus residential population.
Coordinates safety and security measures for the residence halls in area of supervision, including auditing access key cards, reviewing security camera footage, reviewing guest and visitor logs, tracking daily security rounds completed by staff, and coordinating once-a-semester health and safety inspections of individual student rooms.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Manages of residence life programs for multiple institutional student housing communities to ensure alignment with academic initiatives, unit objectives and strategic plans.
2. Serves as the unit liaison among internal and external stakeholder groups providing routine operational information.
3. Implements resident housing operating policies, procedures and programs to promote an inclusive community.

Minimum Education/Experience Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Experience:
(3) Three Years Experience including supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
