Full Time Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid supports the Financial Aid Operations Director by providing advanced leadership, guidance and oversight to the Financial Aid team. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations, while enhancing the student experience through efficient financial aid processes. The Assistant Director actively engages in data collection, problem-solving and process improvements to meet and exceed institutional goals and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide daily informal leadership, mentorship and support to the Financial Aid team. 2. Assist other departments and leadership with data collection and problem resolution. 3. Oversee and audit 25% of all completed files by Financial Aid Representatives and Senior Financial Aid Representatives; provide feedback and collaborate on error trend analysis and training. 4. Manage administrative duties including processing withdrawals, VA benefits, exit counseling reports, Cosmo hour completion reporting and professional judgement cases. 5. Serve as a representative at local community events and business functions. 6. Act as a liaison between Financial Aid and other campus departments, promoting effective communication and a solutions-oriented approach. 7. Conduct weekly stitch-ins with the enrollment team and campus leadership to address challenges and ensure a smooth enrollment process. 8. Provide support and guidance to improve areas identified by leadership, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and enhancing the student experience. 9. Monitor and maintain accuracy rates above 80% for Team Lead completed files (verified by leadership). 10. Maintain updated knowledge of Title IV funding processes, Department of Education guidelines and financial aid regulations. 11. Participate in organizational functions including Open Houses, Graduation Ceremonies, staff meetings and training. 12. Communicate with prospective and current students to assist in the completion of the FASFA and other required forms. 13. Other Duties as Assigned a. Excellence Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) months’ experience as a Financial Aid Team Lead.
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations in a Financial Aid leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle additional administrative and auditing responsibilities.
