1362 Gardner-Webb University seeks a strategic, innovative, and mission-aligned leader to serve as the Vice President for Enrollment. This cabinet-level position reports directly to the President and is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the University’s enrollment efforts, including undergraduate, graduate, online, and transfer recruitment. The Vice President plays a critical role in shaping the University’s future by developing and executing data-informed strategies that align with Gardner-Webb’s Christian mission, academic priorities, and long-term institutional goals. The Vice President oversees the Offices of Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, and Enrollment Operations, and works in close partnership with academic leadership, marketing and communications, student success, and advancement. The role is central to driving institutional growth, increasing student access, and strengthening the University’s competitive position in a dynamic higher education landscape. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and vision for the University’s enrollment efforts, in alignment with Gardner-Webb’s mission and strategic plan
Develop, implement, and assess comprehensive enrollment strategies that address recruitment, yield, and retention across all student populations
Lead and mentor a team of enrollment professionals to ensure a high-performing, student-centered operation
Oversee the integration of admissions, financial aid, and CRM systems to support a seamless and efficient student experience
Analyze enrollment trends, demographic shifts, and market data to inform decision-making and ensure institutional agility
Collaborate with academic deans and faculty to promote programs, develop pipelines, and align recruitment strategies with academic offerings
Partner with the Office of Marketing and Communications to execute targeted campaigns and outreach initiatives that enhance brand visibility and lead generation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid and admissions practices
Promote access and affordability in the recruitment and enrollment process
Serve as a visible and engaged University leader, representing Gardner-Webb to prospective students, families, school counselors, and community partners
Work closely with the Office of Student Success to strengthen retention strategies and support student persistence
Provide regular updates and recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees on enrollment trends, goals, and performance metrics Qualifications Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in higher education administration, enrollment management, business, or a related field preferred
Proven record of success in senior enrollment leadership roles, preferably within a private university setting, with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed enrollment and net tuition revenue goals
Deep knowledge of enrollment strategy, recruitment best practices, financial aid leveraging, and market segmentation
Strong data fluency and experience using analytics, predictive modeling, and CRM systems such as Slate to drive results
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and build strong campus partnerships
Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Strategic thinker who understands the changing dynamics of higher education, including demographic shifts, public perception, and competitive positioning
Understanding of and commitment to the mission, values, and Christian identity of Gardner-Webb University
