Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director for Student Success provides leadership and vision for the Students Obtaining Success ( SOS ) Peer Mentoring program for undergraduate students on academic probation. They also provide support to other initiatives that promote the academic success of students. This includes, but is not limited to: + Recruiting, training, supervising, developing, and evaluating approximately 35 undergraduate Peer Mentors and up to 4 graduate assistants; + Overseeing the development of academic skills training materials and tracking of Peer Mentors meeting College Reading & Learning Association ( CRLA ) certification standards; + Monitoring program budget; + Maintaining program Canvas pages; + Utilizing EAB Navigate to administer and track program participation; + Conducting pre-/post-program assessment to evaluate and continuously improve program services; + Serving as the primary point of contact for current and prospective students regarding program services; + Promoting SOS Peer Mentoring across campus; + And supporting other UCAE activities as needed. Minimum Experience /

Education:

Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related discipline from an accredited university required Minimum of two years experience in higher education or relevant field required. Experience working with programs that foster student success strongly preferred. Strong administrative and interpersonal skills essential

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

+ Experience in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising multiple student employees. + Experience using data management tools such as Excel. + Knowledge of current topics in education theory in higher education, particularly as they relate to students experiencing academic difficulty.
