The College of Fine Arts and Communication offers opportunities for students to broaden their understanding of the human experience through arts and communication. As the public face of the university, comprised of the Schools of Art, Music, Theater and Dance, and Communication, the College offers outreach and demonstrates leadership through performance and exhibition, community and business partnerships and continuing education for a broad range of population of learners.
Job Duties:
The Duties will include the following, but are not limited to: 40% – Alumni & Donor Relations
Serve as primary liaison to CFAC schools donor and alumni boards
Work with alumni and board members; this may entail soliciting financial gifts from donors and potential donors and/or encouraging board/alumni membership.
Will also interact with board members and donors to Rudolph Alexander Performing Arts Series.
Attend regular meetings.
Maintain membership and meeting records.
Lead development of board events which includes creating and attending alumni relations events.
Assists with creation and distribution of outreach materials, thank you letters, and gifts to alumni, donors, and boards.
Work with Associate Dean for Student Success, Alumni Relations, and Outreach on alumni initiatives.
Work with alumni association and advancement team on stewardship specifically related to scholarships and events for alumni and donors.
Work with business service officers to make sure all scholarships are being awarded and student recipients are connecting with their scholarship donors.
Special projects as assigned by the dean.
35% – Event Planning, Logistics, & Support
This position will meet with boards and school directors to determine location and structure of alumni events. This position will lead the design of the event – determining activities at the event, selecting attendees, determining potential speakers for event, etc.
Interact with donors, alumni, and potential donors in a friend-raising capacity
Event Planning including:
Procure space, coordinate technology needs, send invitations, organize artist participation, plan menu and order food, allocate and expense items in Chrome River, and oversee the execution of all phases to completion for the following events: Faculty and Staff Convocation, Student Convocation, New Faculty Luncheon, Family Weekend, Homecoming, PoPs, SRAPAS Receptions, and other events as determined by the dean.
Logistics and Support.
Arrange artist lodging and transportation, performance space access, and all hospitality related issues including internet access, meals, and green room accommodations for all SRAPAS performances.
Coordinate and operate Point of Sale machine, complete Chrome River reporting, and prepare CSPR payments for SRAPAS artists merchandise sales.
Provides on-site coordination and oversight of staff/volunteers working at each SRAPAS event.
Collaborate with a wide variety of individuals and spaces across campus, including Central Ticket office, Central Reservation Office, Student Affairs, Parking Services and ECU Police.
25% – Promotions
Plan and design communication campaigns/marketing materials that include printed pieces as well as digital promotions (web sites and social media) for SRAPAS.
Serve as the lead designer of images and marketing pieces working with relevant software and interacting with UP&G to have those pieces created.
Create a calendaring system for social media which involves planning, scheduling, and organizing social media posts in advance, helping ensure consistent posting, align content with marketing goals, etc.
Work closely with vendors and ECU Creative Services on design to ensure that ECU and CFAC branding guidelines are followed over various promotional applications.
Special projects as assigned by the dean.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. License or Certification Required by
