Program Coordinator for Catawba Honors Program (CHP) & Administrative Assistant for Humanities and Social Behavioral Sciences 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2300 West Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 General Job Description The position presents a unique opportunity for someone who is committed to undergraduate education in a learning environment that values the personal formation of students, sustainability, the exploration of vocation, and interaction with faculty and students who routinely work across varied disciplines. The candidate will serve as Program Coordinator for the Catawba Honors Program (50% of time) and as Administrative Assistant for Humanities and Social Behavioral Sciences (50% of time). Responsibilities As Program Coordinator , the candidate will partner with the Director and Associate Director of the Catawba Honors Program (CHP) on multiple tasks throughout the academic year to deliver an outstanding honors undergraduate experience with the goal of retaining exceptional students to the Program and the College. Responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to the following: Keep Honors Program rosters up to date in College’s various systems. Communicate with students about upcoming dates/deadlines. Manage organization memberships (North Carolina Honors Association, Southern Regional Honors Council, National Collegiate Honors Council). Coordinate conference travel for Director, Associate Director, and Honors students. Work with other campus departments on Honors Program activities (Center for International Studies, Alumni Relations, Development, Student Affairs, etc.). Plan/Host Honors Program events throughout the academic year. Maintain financial records of the Honors Program. Assist in managing and compiling Honors course evaluations. Update and manage Catawba Honors Program website and social media pages. Serve as lead contact for the Principia Consortium study abroad program at the University of Glasgow. As Administrative Assistant , the candidate will work with the faculty in Humanities and Social Behavioral Sciences. Responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to the following: Ordering office and program supplies for faculty and departments. Reconciling departmental credit cards and budgets monthly and annually. Collecting and filing departmental syllabi each semester. Helping with arrangements for faculty course-related travel, e.g. bookings, course excursions, vehicle rentals, various backend work. Assisting with faculty travel and conference registration. Assisting with faculty-search proceedings – arranging travel, lodging, meals, mileage, reimbursements. Working with students and community members with various needs, requests, questions – connecting them to resources and faculty. Coordinating departmental events, workshops, or seminars, including event logistics, invitations, and participant communication, in cooperation with Conferences and Events, Facilities, and other participating parties. Communicating with campus infrastructure, (facilities, administration, campus security). Assisting and working with adjunct faculty as needed. Proctoring exams and makeup work for faculty as needed. Critical Skills/Expertise Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Effective/strong communication and writing skills Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff Proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva, and other program as needed High level of organization and attention to detail Ability to multi-task
