This position prepares electronic transcript evaluations and articulation reviews for the Registrar’s office for all applicants and programs. This position also works with the appropriate program deans to coordinate the evaluation of transfer course credit for general education courses. The position ensures compliance with the NC Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and adherence to degree programs by following established procedures and/or identifying courses in need for further evaluation. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described. Keys incoming college transcripts and standardized exam score data into the Student Information System. Reviews transcript information for potential general education transfer credit and either awards credit based on practices and procedures or forwards the course and transcript information to the appropriate personnel for review. Works from a shared electronic file to document the status of each transcript review and communicate with the Transfer Credit Team if any transcripts need to be forwarded for review by CU Dean. Assists with identification of courses that could be coded as standard equivalencies and assists with keying standard equivalencies in our student information system (Colleague) and the third-party software we use to research courses, Transfer Equivalency System (TES). Using TES, tracks evaluation requests to CU Dean and provides information regarding course substitutions for general education transfer credit awards to the Student Records team and documents this process in Colleague. Occasionally communicates with students via email or phone if additional information is needed in order to fully review their external courses. This might include asking students to provide course syllabi or a course description from their college’s catalog. Assists the Associate Dean for Student Transition Services as time allows, which may include helping to review Reverse Transfer files for students who transferred out of WTCC but may have since earned a degree using transfer credit from their new institution.
