Position Purpose The Assistant Dean is one of a unit of undergraduate deans responsible for holistic student advising and programming in the context of a highly selective liberal arts college environment. The Assistant Dean promotes students’ intellectual and personal growth consistent with the mission of the College and helps administer College policies and procedures. Description Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Masters plus 35 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Proven record of effectiveness in student advising, addressing needs of students from underrepresented backgrounds and support programs that promote student success.
Proven record of successful experience responding to individual and communitybased concerns with a high level of discretion and experience with student privacy/confidentiality, including FERPA.
Outstanding organizational skills, problemsolving, proficiency in teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and strong communication to multiple audiences.
Solid foundation in student developmental theory and its application to professional practice in student affairs.
Experience with oncall responsibilities, student crisis management or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in higher education administration, student development and leadership, student personnel or related field with five years relevant work experience.
