About The Position:
As part of a dynamic Undergraduate Admissions team, this position, based at the main campus in Plattsburgh, NY, is responsible for recruitment, conversion, and yield tactics to help enroll well-qualified students each semester. This position will have a focus on enrollment pathways for students in the North Country region (Clinton, Franklin, and Essex counties) of New York, but will assist with other areas and tasks as needed. This temporary position is funded as part of a SUNY Plattsburgh initiative for three years with the possibility of further renewals. The department of Undergraduate Admissions focuses on attracting and enrolling a qualified and diverse student body to SUNY Plattsburgh through a variety of methods. We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Effective communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
Ability to develop and deliver presentations
Ability to work collaboratively in team environments
Ability to master knowledge of programs/services available to college students
Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
Valid driver’s license at time of appointment
Willingness and ability to perform some evening and weekend work
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and/or other basic computer software
Ability to work independently to complete work timely and accurately without direct supervision
A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues at all different levels in an organization and external stakeholders of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Prior experience working in college admissions or related area
Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues
Familiarity with Banner software
Familiarity with Technolutions Slate CRM
Familiarity with Ellucian Degree Works
