Job Description:
The Director of Student Involvement develops and manages a comprehensive student leadership program. The Director is responsible for the development and promotion of cultural, social and organizational activities of student clubs and organizations, with an emphasis on developing and evaluating the employability skills of students participating in clubs and organizations. The Director will also play an important role in establishing and supporting student engaged learning opportunities in leadership and involvement and will lead efforts to establish a co-curricular transcript. The Director serves as advisor to the Student Association and has oversight for all SUNY Poly clubs and organizations. This includes event management and approvals for all student events. The Director approves events within the Student Center. As part of the Student Involvement Team, the employee is expected to support functions of the Center for Student Involvement, with specific assignments to include the essential functions listed below: The Director of the Center for Student involvement has responsibility for events and activities that occur at night and on weekends. Summer months will include responsibilities for team planning and execution of student orientation programs and support of summer conferences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as advisor to Student Association and provide supplementary advisor support for all clubs and organizations, ensuring ongoing development and training.
Lead the development and promotion of cultural, social, and organizational activities of student clubs and organizations, with an emphasis on developing and evaluating the employability skills of students participating in clubs and organizations
Support ALL Campus efforts, including faculty and staff use, within Engage. Pursue ongoing excellence in maintaining Engage for the purpose of campus calendaring, marketing and as the location to host a student co-curricular transcript.
Serve as the commuter student point-person. Oversee the establishment and advisement of a commuter student association.
Assist with summer conferencing, particularly as it pertains to use of the Student Center for events and conferences.
Establish increasing community service and experiential opportunities for students on and off campus and partner with the VPSA to fund an increasing number of opportunities, such that any student seeking these opportunities can secure them.
Develop a full professional background on best practices in student governance through active engagement in professional associations, training, and conferences.
Continue to lead efforts to create a social, active and engaging Student Center environment.
Coordinate marking and social media efforts for the Office of Student Involvement
Support all aspects of new student orientation in conjunction with the
Dean of Students Office Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
The ability to manage a variety of projects and responsibilities.
Experience with diverse populations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently is a must.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A
master’s degree, preferably in student personnel, with progressive experience in the management and administration of student activities or a student union
