POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Admissions role is to educate incoming freshman, transfers, parents and counselors about Le Moyne College and the overall college admission process. Responsible for all aspects of college admission including recruitment, counseling, academic advising and evaluation of prospective students and applicants.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position: To work effectively with the Director of Admission by participating as an active member of a professional admission team to design, develop and implement successful marketing and recruitment strategies and plans. Successfully manage specific primary, secondary and tertiary geographic territories by planning and implementing marketing and recruitment activities in each of these areas. This will include extensive travel in each of these areas that may often require being away from home for extended periods which may range from days to weeks at a time. Effectively counsel, advise and interview prospective freshmen and transfer students. Evaluation of applicants seeking admission to the college which will determine the ultimate admission decision. Extensive telemarketing activities to prospective students and applicants. Participate in the organization and execution of all on campus open house recruitment events. Plan and host on campus programs for targeted students groups. Maximize opportunities for students, parents and counselors regarding the college admission process and access to Le Moyne College. The position requires special sensitivity to all individuals regardless of race, color ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, economic status and country of origin. The Assistant Director will be responsible for specific program responsibilities (ex: travel coordination, tour guides, etc.) as assigned by the Director. To demonstrate a commitment to one’s own personal growth and development by taking an active role in in-service training as well as other professional, educational conferences, meetings and opportunities.
Travel and Recruitment:
Visit high schools, junior colleges and multicultural agencies to educate students and counselors about Le Moyne College. Interview students during off campus recruiting trips. Meet with local alumni during off campus recruiting trips. Represent Le Moyne College at organized off campus recruiting programs including, college nights, national and regional colleges, fairs and mini days. Planning, scheduling, and presenting at Student Information Sessions in targeted geographic areas. (off-campus receptions) Planning, scheduling, and presenting at off campus guidance counselor breakfasts, dinners and association meetings. Participate in panel presentations at secondary schools when invitations are extended to us. Continually maintains skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry including best practice, evolving operational requirements, and industry trends. Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. or B.S. from an accredited four year College or University. Valid Driver’s License Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours during various time periods including evenings and weekends. High level of initiative and imagination. Excellent customer service skills Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated time management and organization skills.

$26.65
